An international team of scientists, including Onur Güntürkün (A01, F02) from the RUB, proposes a new system for the classification of cell types of the cerebral cortex. The new system is necessary, they say, because there is currently a confusing variety of cell types in the nervous system. The new proposal provides for a classification according to the principle of the same transkiptome, the same cell type.
