ReproducibiliTEA “Aspiring to greater intellectual humility in science”

Humility and self-promotion in academia seem to be diametrically opposed. So how do we become perfect marketers of our work, competing successfully as scientists while adhering to academic principles?

Another ReproducibiliTea session is coming up, discussing the hard facts about the current state of science! Main topic: the fuzzy-sounding topic of intellectual humility and what not-so-fuzzy measures exist to increase it. Where does modesty work to one’s advantage and where should it be better avoided?

The following paper provides the basis for the discussion:

Hoekstra, R., & Vazire, S. (2021). Aspiring to greater intellectual humility in science. Nature Human Behaviour, 5(12), 1602-1607. https://doi.org/10.1038/s41562-021-01203-8

The event will start on Tuesday, 18.03.2025 as usual at 14:00, either in IB/6-127 at RUB or online via zoom.
