RUBIN, the RUB’s science magazine, together with the SFB 1280, is publishing a new issue for anyone interested in memory in January 2026 – RUBIN Extinction Learning 2026. All articles printed in it will appear online in advance on the RUB news portal.
How, when, and where do we recall actual experiences? That is what philosophers and neuroscientists in Bochum are working together to investigate. Sen Cheng (A14, F01) and Markus Werning explain how memories are constructed and to what extent they are based on actual experiences or distorted by semantic knowledge and reconstruction.
