Watching the brain at work and researching how it works is now possible at the Leibniz Institute für Arbeitsforschung an der TU Dortmund (IfADo) with the help of a magnetic resonance tomograph (MRT). The MRI device with a field strength of three tesla will strengthen interdisciplinary research on the welfare and protection of working people at IfADo.
Researchers at IfADo will use the MRI machine to comprehensively study brain structure and function in a variety of contexts. For example, they will address the questions of how the brain changes with age and which neuronal processes are responsible for deteriorations in performance.
