Can you forget it? It’s back! After an unscheduled break, there’s a new episode on a real media topic: ADHD, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
ADHD is not only a major topic on social media, in school environments, and in psychological diagnosis practices, but also a neurological disorder that has probably been the most widely discussed in society in recent years, alongside burnout and depression. A major problem in diagnosing the disorder is the range of its symptoms and the individual severity of each symptom. This makes diagnosis much more difficult compared to other neurological disorders.
In this episode, Rainer Holl talks to Dr. Marlies Pinnow from the Ruhr University Bochum and Dr. Navid Banafshe, who is currently working as a visiting scientist in Bochum to take ADHD diagnosis in a whole new direction: ADHD detection via hearing tests!
This is so unusual that Rainer Holl had to talk to the two study leaders about ADHD, the disorder, the everyday life of those affected, and the new diagnostic methods.
