We are pleased to welcome Gordon Feld from the ZI Mannheim for a talk as part of our colloquium series SFB 1280 presents! Together with his research group “Psychology and Neurobiology of Sleep and Memory”, Gordon Feld is working on the processing of long-term memory during sleep.
It has long been known that memory content can be selectively strengthened through sleep. The focus of the Mannheim group is on which sleep-related processes determine whether specific information remains in long-term memory or is forgotten. Of particular interest here is the role played by the expectation of rewards, i.e. whether highly rewarded content is more likely to be retained than low-reward content.
Gordon Feld will report on how sleep, remembering and forgetting work together on 16.06.2025 at 1 pm in IB 6/127 at RUB and live via Zoom.
