The new Research Network “Cerebellum and Emotional Networks” (CEN) starts with the support of the European Research Council. Here, 7 leading universities, including the University Hospital Essen, are coming together to gain a detailed insight into the functioning of the cerebellum, with a focus on emotional control – especially anxiety and fear. The cerebellum is also a central topic for SFB 1280 and is of particular interest to Dr. Dagmar Timman-Braun (A05, F02). With her own work on the cerebellum, she forms an important cornerstone of the new network. We are pleased about the increased interest and commitment in this research field.
