At the 10th International Annual Meeting of the Society for Research on the Cerebellum and Ataxias (SRCA) from 16-17 May 2019 in Sheffield, UK, Lana Inoue received the Masao Itō Award for Best Poster for presenting her poster “Can cerebellar-dependent motor responses modulate extinction of conditioned fear?” (Inoue L, Batsikadze G, Ernst TM, Merz CJ, Timmann D).
Lana is doing her doctoral thesis in the group of Dagmar Timmann at the Clinic for Neurology. The project is part of the SFB 1280-subproject A05. Already in December 2018, the young scientist won a poster prize on the Research Day of the Medical Faculty of the University of Duisburg-Essen. Now she has received her second award.
The medical doctoral student was able to assert herself in a high-class field: Out of 54 posters, three received an award. The aim of Lana’s project is to investigate whether the extinction of conditioned fear can be modulated by simultaneous eyelid closure conditioning.
