The position is integrated in the DFG Collaborative Research Center “Extinction Learning” (SFB 1280) and will investigate the effects of stress and sport on extinction learning using different experimental paradigms.
The applicant (m/f/d) will conduct laboratory experimental studies on the effects of acute psychosocial stress as well as sports activity on fear conditioning processes. Behavioral, neuroendocrine, and peripheral physiological methods will be used.
In addition to data collection, the tasks include data analysis and publication of the results in international journals. The willingness to do a PhD is required.
Requirements for employment are a university degree in psychology or a related subject. Further criteria are a strong interest in research and excellent English skills, very good methodological and statistical skills, experience in psychoneuroendocrinology (especially related to stress research), in the collection of peripheral physiological measures (especially electrodermal activity, pupillometry, heart rate or heart rate variability), and the ability to work in a team.
